Museo® Expands Vertical Integration with New Coating, Converting and Logistics Facility

Berlin, Germany / Erlangen, Germany – March 27, 2026

Museo® was the first supplier to bring the developments in inkjet coated FineArt paper from Germany into North America as Museo® Silver Rag. Now the company is picking up pace after their 2025 relaunch as an OEM paper supplier with their fully integrated European manufacturing line. Museo® have acquired a high-performance coating system and logistics facility in Nuremberg/Erlangen. The historic asset purchased, originally Regulus Coatings, developed the first multi-substrate coatings and adhesives in Europe in 1910. This historic, all-star lineup is already making a significant impact in the print industry by bringing in a fresh wind and stable supply chain.

Our investment Museo® creates the first fully integrated production and supply chain for digital printing media and the visual communication segment in the western industry landscape – from preference paper manufacturing to multi-substrate coating, converting, packaging and distribution” stated Brian Crotty, Global Director, Sales and Operations.

“In a market that is experiencing declining volumes and consolidations Museo® is bucking the trend by investing in a production line at a size that is optimized for efficiency at the expected market volumes. Our focus will continue to be on operational excellence and cost-efficiency thanks to leading-edge German engineering, chemistry and automation.”

During the ramp-up phase in 2026, the new facility will benefit from a perfect storm of experience: paper manufacturing, production printing, coating technology, quality assurance, design and packaging. This single-source production model will ensure supply stability, product flexibility, and reliable production as an increasingly important advantage for brands and large production houses seeking long-term partners.

Strengthening Global Supply with European Manufacturing

In addition to coating, the Museo® facility will serve as a converting, packaging and logistics hub. The Erlangen facility has capacity for thousands of pallet units, for long-term storage of raw material and finished goods to overcome supply chain disruptions. Museo® will focus on finishing products in Europe from both local and global supply chains while continuing to work with their primary logistics partner to use a dual-hub approach to improve delivery resilience and flexibility from a central European location. In 2026, additional distribution hubs are planned to come online in USA and Asia for selected Museo® products.

The Perfect Solution for the Visual Communication Segment

The new coating line will begin with the established Museo® range of OEM fine art papers and immediately expand towards targeted ‘growth products’. The manufacturing capabilities are agile to adapt to changing market needs which will require streamlined and flexible production lines like the Erlangen/Nurenburg facility.

Museo® Coating will provide a cost-effective solution to rival Asian manufacturing from baseline papers up to highest level inkjet and fine art applications. Future product developments and finishing may also include foils, signage substrates, laminates, and other media designed for the wider visual communication industry to meet specific market and product gaps.

“Museo® has already made a significant mark with the rapid development and launch of new products for the paper market. The Erlangen location gives us a complete value chain and maximum flexibility” commented Brian Crotty on the acquisition.

“As a company, we will remain lean with a focus on operational excellence and cost-optimization for key products required for the market. The industry leaders who want to work a partner focused on growth and innovation will do well to speak with us about securing products in printing media and visual communication.”

Secure your applications, your margins, your future.

Museo® will begin their production based on existing products, partnerships and roll-over custom media demands from the line. New industry partners can connect directly with the Museo® team to leverage the first vertically integrated European production partner for cost-effective product development and supply.
